Four guided writing Sessions
For writers working in any genre who want to deepen trust and connection with readers, while building their writing skills and practice. Participate in grounded writing exercises and connect with a community of writers on Sundays in May.
How it works
Participate in four live guided writing sessions where we focus on archetypes in your writing. Our activities will include:
- Timed creative writing prompts that explore archetypes and their narrative/lyric possibility.
- Guided activities, including Tarot card drawing, to explore and create your own archetypes.
- Entirely optional opportunities to share what you’re writing.

I offer a sliding scale pricing model in the hopes to provide more access for writers and Reconciliation Pricing for BIPOC and/or Trans Writers (see below). Please consider your current income, your past and future income, and generational wealth when choosing your tier:

For recently unemployed writers or writers experiencing reduced income and who do not have access to generational or personal wealth. (25% Reduction in Price)Standard Price Tier

IBPOC +/ Trans Reconciliation Pricing
I offer Reconciliation Pricing in recognition of how colonialism, white supremacy, and capitalism concentrates resources and wealth into the hands of the few at the expense of the many.
This pricing is offered ONLY to Indigenous, Black and other writers of colour and transgender writers because systemic racism and transphobia create financial disadvantages for these communities.
Because this tier is limited to 5 spots, if you are a IBPOC and/or trans writer with some means or funding, you may wish to choose from the sliding-scale tiers above.

Frequently Asked Questions
What will we do in the series?
Writers will come together weekly to participate in timed creative writing prompts. I’ll also lead guided exercises to go deeper in your writing. You will have (entirely optional) opportunities to share your writing.
Do I need to have any writing experience to join the series?
Absolutely not! You are most welcome to join if you’re totally new to creative writing. It will provide a great introduction to an embodied writing practice.
Do I need to be at my desk to join?
Calling in from wherever you are (outdoors included 🌳) is encouraged. I will provide local call-in numbers or you can use the Zoom app on a smartphone to join instead of a computer.
What if I can't make all the calls?
If you can’t make all the calls, you can catch up on replays. (Available in video and audio formats.)
Do I need to appear on camera to join?
You absolutely do not need to appear on camera and I will let you know if you will be recorded during the call for our replay.
Why is the price in USD?
Because US currency is best understood by a course community made up of writers from all over the world, all of my course prices are in USD. (Additionally, all of the software I use to run my courses charge in USD, including companies based in Canada, so charging in US funds helps me cover those expenses.)
In the future, I’d love to offer other currency options, but as a small operation I’m unable to do this yet. However, if you are a Canadian who would prefer to pay by bank transfer in CAD, please get in touch with me at hello@rachelthompson.co.
A note on taxes for writers in Canada: I cover the HST/GST in your province and remit this to CRA, so the price listed above is all you pay.
