What Genres Do you Teach in the Course?
This creative writing course welcomes poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction (including essays and memoir), and hybrid work. Each lesson includes readings across multiple genres, so you can write in whatever form fits your project. You will learn fresh approaches to poetry and to prose, and you will practice going deeper into the subjects that most resonate.
What kind of writing experience is required?
The course is geared toward writers and poets who want to add more depth and resonance to their work; no specific writing experience is required, but you do need to have writing you have already drafted that you would like to take deeper.
Does this course offer feedback?
Are there live times I need to be available?
Deeper Drafts is an asynchronous course, meaning there aren’t live calls or set days/times for you to work on assignments.
But it’s also not a “do it whenever” self-paced course!
There are clear deadlines throughout the three weeks, you’ll receive personalized feedback from me on your submissions, and you’ll also have discussions with other writers in our Slack community.
How big is the course cohort?
To provide a more personalized and supportive experience, I cap the course at 12 participants. This group size allows me to offer individualized attention, and writers benefit from detailed feedback on their writing.
Together, we create a space where you can comfortably engage and grow as a writer. I do this in particular for my fellow introverts, to ensure that every voice is heard and valued.

How much does this course cost?
Support Tier 1 (10% off | $270)
For writers who are recently unemployed or experiencing reduced income and who do not have access to personal or generational wealth.
Support Tier 2 (15% off | $255)
For writers experiencing ongoing financial insecurity and who do not have access to personal or generational wealth and/or savings.
Access Pricing (20% off | $240)
For writers on disability assistance and/or writers who are part of BIPOC and/or trans communities. If you are able, please choose another pricing level so this option remains available.
Monthly payment plans are available for all pricing tiers.
