Frequently Asked Questions

What Genres Do you Teach in the Course?

This course in creative writing covers poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction (which includes essays and memoir), and hybrid forms of creative writing. Each lesson offers readings in multiple genres— you can write in any form that fits you. You will learn different possibilities for writing poetry/prose and “real”/“imagined” stories that go deeper into the subjects that resonate.

What kind of writing experience is required?

The course is geared for writers and poets who want to add more depth and resonance to their work; no specific writing experience is required but you do need to have writing you would like to take deeper.

Does this course offer feedback?

Yes! You’ll receive personalized feedback on up to ten pages of your writing for five assignments, plus supportive feedback on your process and reflections for the other five. This way, you get both in-depth guidance on your work and encouragement for your creative journey.

How big is the course cohort?

To provide a more personalized and supportive experience, I cap the course at 12 participants. This group size allows me to offer individualized attention, and writers benefit from detailed feedback on their writing.

Together, we create a space where you can comfortably engage and grow as a writer. I do this in particular for my fellow introverts, to ensure that every voice is heard and valued.

Since the course is limited to 12 writers, secure your spot soon if you’d like to join my intimate and tailored course experience.

How much does this course cost?

The Deeper Drafts course costs 335 USD and I offer sliding-scale pricing to make the Deeper Drafts course more accessible:

  • 15% off: For writers recently unemployed or experiencing reduced income, without access to generational or personal wealth ($285).
  • 25% off: For writers facing financial insecurity, without access to personal or generational wealth and/or savings ($252).
  • 30% off (Access Pricing): For BIPOC writers, Trans writers, or writers on disability payments ($235).

Monthly payment plans are also available for all pricing tiers.
